Inclusive travel does not only focus on providing special treatments to disabled travellers, however its more about removing unnecessary barriers. There are many barriers for disabled travellers in the travel and tourism industry, but the biggest one is unreliable information available. This is the biggest barrier because there cannot be a uniformity of information addressing diverse conditions of disabled travellers.
Solution proposal: To help disable travellers, firstly analyse the number of your disabled travellers (customers) and determine the number of conditions frequently using your travel services and build a solution for such travellers. For example, assuming 60% of your disabled travellers are blind people, build a solution facilitating blind people in your service. It’s better to be accurate dealing with most disabled travellers in your services rather than trying to please every disabled travellers with a uniformity information with no impact.
Disable travellers’ opportunities for business growth.
From the example giving above, assuming 40% of your customers are not disabled travellers, will you ignore the 60% disabled travellers and only focus on 40% or a vice versa? Business growth derived from potentials customers and the bigger your audience, the greater your growth. This kind of approach also contributes to building a strong brand for more growth.
Cost of inclusive travel
Inclusive travel can be costly for many SMEs. But despite the cost involved, inclusive travel can always be managed with a low budget.
